命名源自《绿野仙踪》：参与者像多萝西，背后操纵者像幕后的巫师。常用于尚未成熟的技术原型研究；中文母语者容易忘记连字符，写成 Wizard of Oz。
常见错误
- ·漏写连字符（应作 Wizard-of-Oz）；和真正的 Wizard of Oz 故事混淆而译成「奥兹国巫师」。
